Civil and Commercial Litigation
Phil is admitted to practice in the states of Connecticut and New York and in the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. Before joining the firm, Phil practiced successfully as a solo practitioner in a general practice. He has also served as a judicial law clerk to the Connecticut Appellate Court for the Honorable Socrates H. Mihalakos.
Phil graduated magna cum laude from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2001, where he was a Dean’s Scholar. As the recipient of serveral public interest grants, he has worked in criminal defense and prosecution, developed a program to educate young people on the ramifications of statutory rape convictions and assisted the public in family law matters. Phil earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English, cum laude, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications from Boston University. Prior to entering the legal profession, Phil served as a public middle school teacher in New York City through his association with Teach for America.
Phil has since represented clients in commercial, personal injury, medical malpractice, housing, family, and criminal matters, including representing clients in pro bono cases through Lawyers For Children America and Statewide Legal Services. He has also successfully argued before the Connecticut Appellate Court. Phil currently practices in the areas of commercial and civil litigation, including employment and municipal matters, contract and complex business litigation, personal injury, insurance defense, housing and a variety of other matters. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association, as well as the New Haven County Bar Association, where he co-chairs the Public Service Committee.
Phil lives in Hamden with his family and in his spare time enjoys coordinating the Pe’ah Project, which is a community garden that donates half of its produce to local soup kitchens.
