Since 1980, Laura has been actively involved in the representation of commercial borrowers and lenders in the closing of acquisitions, financing and refinancing transactions. Such representation has included asset-based financings, state and federal grant and loan programs, and multi–million dollar Connecticut projects undertaken by out-of-state developers.

Laura has considerable experience in the area of multifamily and affordable housing. In 1995, she represented six (6) syndicated limited partnerships in closing the first HUD refinancings in the United States under the Preservation Loan Program. She has continued to represent clients in the development, management and disposition of multifamily housing, and in particular has served as counsel in all facets of refinancings and capital oppotunities for rental properties whose initial affordability restrictions have expired. Laura regularly represents for-profit and not-for-profit owners working with HUD, State Housing Finance Authorities, local Housing Authorities, Municipal development agencies, private equity lenders and banks.

Her corporate practice includes the formation and representation of business organizations of every description, including healthcare facilities and providers. Laura also counsels business and individual clients on estate planning and business succession planning.

Laura is a member of the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Business Law Section. She received an undergraduate degree from Wellesley College, a masters degree from Case Western Reserve University, and a law degree from The University of Connecticut, where she graduated with honors. Laura is listed in Best Lawyers in America.

Laura has served as a Trustee of The Foote School in New Haven and as chairman of its Development Committee, and as a Trustee of the Foundation Trust of the Congregation Miskhan Israel in Hamden, Connecticut. She is currently the President of the Board of Trustees of ClearWater Initiative, a charitable organization dedicated to providing clean, potable water solutions to populations in need. Laura and her family live in Hamden.
